Well he couldn't and none of us can. But really would anyone want to live forever? You say if you were perpetually young and no one died you would. But would you?
Most people can barely cope with their brief lifespan now. There's always drama and they don't have enough money. But even if you were as rich and brilliant as Prince would you always want to be here?
We all cling to life and are scared of death but ultimately life is for learning and striving for knowledge. Death brings peace rest and all knowledge anyway.
Accept death to enhance life.

And so far I have been ignored and snarled at in a queue. Abused on the phone by a business man who wasn't getting his way and elbowed out of the way outside a restaurant. How kind we have become. 

Have we become so used to always expecting to get what we want that we can't tolerate other people getting in our way? Or that our lives are so focused on ourselves that we don't even know that other people even exist? I think both of the above.

Intend to get out of your own skin for once and just try helping and thinking of someone else for a change. Ok you're in a rush but it's not going to kill you if you just relax for once. It could kill someone else if you don't. Something hasn't gone your way but in the end it's only business. You'll get another contract if you can accept things more.

Practise happiness and giving this gift to others and you'll soon realise that you are not the only person who needs kindness in this world.

Am I growing more and more like my mother or father as I get older? If we feel we are going down the same path they took and don't like it, as long as we know and can see the problem we can check it and change things.
Our lives are so brief that we should strive to become who we really want to be regardless of our past or our parents. Ultimately you choose who you want to be. Life is too short to become someone you don't like. Happy Mother's Day.
