A friend's wife has just died from a massive heart attack. Two weeks before this happened she told him she was going to die soon and that he needed to remarry. The main fear she stressed was that she was not to be kept alive as a vegetable. She made him repeat many times that this was not to be the case.
He replied, "Don't be silly you'll be here for many years." This is how we ignore the wishes of our loved ones as we try and hang onto them.
Two weeks later she was being flown to a hospital in a vegetative state. What was he to do? Luckily she died a week later. Be sad but happy for that person as well.
